In most cases, diarrhea is temporary and will resolve on its own. If your dog is still acting normal and eating or at least drinking, you can continue providing water and skip one meal (this will let the gastrointestinal tract rest). Then begin feeding a bland diet such as boiled white meat chicken or cottage cheese , white rice etc. -do this for a few days and then slowly reintroduce their regular meal slowly(1/4 cup old food/3/4 bland diet one day, then 1/2 old diet 1/2 bland diet and so on). If the diarrhea continues for more than a day or two or other problems develop(such as blood in the diarrhea) then a veterinarian should be contacted. Make sure your dog has plenty of fresh water available.
